UTAH OLYMPIC PARK GUIDED TOUR & ALF ENGEN SKI MUSEUM VISIT
Monday, August 24, 9:45 am – 12:00 noon
Meet at Alf Engen Ski Museum/Olympic Park Lobby inside at 9:45 am. Group tour departs at 10:00 am sharp to 11:00 am. Museum visit is self-guided afterward. Most visitors spend 30 to 60 minutes in the museum. Approximate ending time is 12:00 noon.
Have you been to (or would you like to learn more about) the Alf Engen Ski Museum and Utah Olympic Park, site of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games? Guided tours are the best way to explore the venue and learn about the amazing stories of Olympic achievement – and some of the more peculiar tales of Utah Olympic Park. The tour includes a ride aboard their shuttle bus as we are driven to the top of the world’s highest Nordic ski jumps and one of the fastest bobsled/luge/skeleton tracks in the world. During the one-hour tour, their guides will inform, explain and entertain us.
After the guided tour of Olympic Park, we will head inside to meet Executive Director Annie Bommer and Museum Manager Maddie Nunez of the Alf Engen Ski Museum. They will introduce us to the fabulous two-story museum of snow sports, winter fashion, avalanche mitigation, and Olympic memorabilia. We will also be invited to learn more about their fourth-grade education program offered free to Utah students, and an important volunteer opportunity for those who are interested. The museum inside is self-guided and you may spend as much time as you like exploring the exhibits. No pets allowed.
Limited to 10 participants. You must email mgotravel@hotmail.com
