OUTDOOR ROCK CLIMBING – DOGWOOD CRAG AT DOGWOOD PICNIC AREA
Monday, August 10, 8:15 a.m.-12 noon
We will climb at the Dogwood Crag at the Dogwood Picnic Area in Big Cottonwood Canyon. Meeting time at the parking area within the picnic area closest to the crag will be 9:00 a.m. However, carpooling is encouraged. Meet at PC Bread and Bagels at 3126 Quarry Rd in Quarry Village in Pinebrook for an on-time departure at 8:20 a.m. for our 9:00 a.m. start at the crag.
Parking at the Dogwood Picnic Area requires payment or a National Parks Pass. Participants should bring water and a snack. Since this is an outdoor activity on a public and popular crag, it is important that all participants remain flexible, if other climbers are at the crag. Climbing shoes and a harness are required. A helmet is recommended. The organizer has a couple of extra harnesses to loan. Only persons who are experienced climbers, or who have climbed with the organizer at Momentum Gym, may participate. There is a limit of 4 persons plus the organizer and co-organizer.
All participants will be required to sign the PCMSC activity release form, provided by the leader.
