MODERATE HIKE – Stewart Falls near Sundance
Monday, June 26 – Moderate hike – Stewart Falls near Sundance
Meet at Quinn’s Junction parking lot north of the bathrooms by the athletic fields for an on-time departure of 8:00am or you can meet at the Aspen Grove trailhead at 8:30am. The trail is very popular so expect lots of people.
Stewart Falls is best in the spring when the 200 ft waterfall is raging and this is the year! The trail is mostly shaded and traverses avalanche terrain. I have not previewed it this year but have read there are downed trees and it may be muddy but totally worth the effort for the views and waterfall.
The hike is 4 miles roundtrip, 400 ft of elevation. It should take 2-3 hours of hiking time with 30 min drive time on either end.
You may bring dogs but they will need to be on a leash.
Bring the hiking essential, plenty of water, sunscreen, good shoes and bug spray.
We will stop for a snack at the falls.
If weather is questionable, please text the hike leader. There is a stinky bathroom at the TH.
A National Park Pass is required so carpool with someone who has one!
You will be required to sign the Clubs activity release form provided by the hike leader.
