Meet at Lot 1 for on-time departure at 8:00am.

Total ride:  77 miles & 11,600’ of elevation gain

This ride has three substantial climbs.  It is basically an out and back ride, so you can turn around at any point.
Climb #1:  Park City to Guardsman Pass
•9.3 miles, 2,800’ elevation gain
•Leave Lot 1 at Snow Park, ascend Royal Street. Take Wheaton to Marsac and climb up past the Montage.  Take the private road, Twisted Branch Road to Empire Pass.   Continue to Guardsman Pass.
•Descend the West side of Guardsman Pass and head down Big Cottonwood Canyon to Cottonwood Heights (mile 26.2).  There is a 7-11 store and a coffee shop at the bottom, if you would like to take a break there.
Climb #2:  Cottonwood Heights to Alta (Little Cottonwood Canyon)
•12.4 miles, 3,800’ elevation gain
•Head to Little Cottonwood Canyon via Wasatch Blvd and Little Cottonwood Road.
•Ascend Little Cottonwood Canyon Rd to the Albion Grill parking lot in Alta (mile 38.6).
•Descend back to Cottonwood Heights (mile 51.0) on the same route.  There is a store near the Tram at Snowbird, about 2 miles below the Albion Grill parking lot.
•Again, once in Cottonwood Heights, you can stop at the 7-11, store or the coffee shop.
Climb #3:  Cottonwood Heights to Guardsman Pass (Big Cottonwood Canyon)
•17.6 miles, 4,900’ elevation gain
•Climb Big Cottonwood Canyon to Brighton.  We will stop at the Brighton Café & Store (mile 65.2) for a break.
•After leaving Brighton we will head up to Guardsman Pass (mile 68.6).
•Descend from Guardsman Pass towards Empire Pass, then descend via Marsac back to the starting point (~ mile 77) in Park City.

•Extra credit:  If you have not had enough climbing for the day, then you can do a loop up Royal Street and down Marsac.  Each loop is about 6.0 miles with 1,000’ of climbing.

If you would like a .gpx file of the route, then send an email request to me at kenglish.robin@gmail.com and I will send the file to you.

As always, prior to the start of the ride, you must sign the Activity Release form provided by the ride leader.
