FRIDAY JULY 17 – Leisure bike ride – From Newpark in front of Maxwell’s/Swaner EcoCenter
Meet outside Maxwell’s and the Swaner EcoCenter in Newpark, 1258 Center Dr. Park City, UT
84098. There is plenty of parking in the parking garage in the building across the street from
Best Buy. Turn left at the condo construction site for the garage entrance on the right. Please
arrive in time to park, get your bike off of your vehicle and be ready for a 9am departure.
This will be a 7.7 mile loop ride with 168 feet of elevation. We will ride on paved roads, dirt/
gravel trail and boardwalk. We will ride around the Swaner Preserve and the Osguthorpe Farm
to Willow Creek Park and back to Newpark on the 224 Connector Trail. Any type of bicycle will
be more than adequate. We will ride at an average of 7.5 – 8.0 mph. The ride will take about 1
hour. Please bring a mask, buff or bandana for the meeting location. NO RIDER WILL BE
DROPPED.
Kathy and Steve Holmes will co-lead this ride with a maximum of 10 people. If we receive more
than 10 RSVPs we will split the group. Therefore, this will be a RSVP ride. Send an email to
sandkholmes@comcast.net if you wish to join. Kathy or Steve will advise you by return email if
you are on the list.
Be sure to bring the club’s Activity Release Form, (COVID-19), which is to be signed on the day
of the ride and deposit the form in the box in the back of the Holmes’s car. The form may be
found on the club’s web site under the “ABOUT US” tab.
Please wear good biking footwear. Put on sunscreen, a sun hat and bring water.
If the weather is questionable on the morning of the ride, please contact the co-leaders to see if
the ride has been cancelled.
